Baby Jack’s Playroom Reveal

We absolutely love when previous clients come back to us for more projects, we nicknamed them “boomerang clients“. It’s so heartwarming to watch their home and family both grow together.

Mike and Elise first reached out to us a couple years back for a first-floor renovation of which we documented in Season 3 Episode 2 of our series, Renovation Rekindle. By the time we wrapped up, baby Jack made his very first appearance into the world!

Fast forward to 2024, and baby Jack, who is now a toddler who is now a toddler, got promoted to big brother Jack! Their growing family realized they needed just a bit more space on the main level. That’s where we came in.

Screened-in porch: Before

Fortunately, they had a screened porch right off the dining room, which just so happened to be the perfect size to convert into a cozy, year-round playroom for the kids.

This space was perfectly positioned on the main level to allow for easy supervision, provide direct access to the backyard in the summer, and also serve as a relaxing sunroom for Mike and Elise.

While designing, we kept future possibilities in mind. To ensure the room could easily adapt as the family’s needs change, we installed solid double pocket doors and built-in storage that seamlessly matches the rest of the first-floor design. This way, the space can effortlessly transition into a flexible room—whether it’s a home office, guest room, or cozy lounge—once the kids outgrow it.

Playroom and Sunroom: After

The newly finished porch while small, has plenty of built-in storage, flows seamlessly off the dining room, and has tons of natural light that opens up the space.

Primary Suite Escape: Bedroom & Bathroom Renovation Reveal

Kevin and Michelle came to us with a vision of transforming their primary suite to feel like a luxurious escape, but the existing layout was anything but relaxing. A cramped closet, single-sink vanity, and a shower that felt more like a phone booth left little room for comfort.

In this project, we reimagined the entire space, knocking down walls and reworking the footprint to create the ultimate suite experience. By shifting the closet into the bedroom and expanding the bathroom, we opened up new possibilities. The result? A double vanity with custom cabinetry, a spacious walk-in shower with bold green accent tiles, and a closet that no longer feels like a tight squeeze.

This was more than just a renovation – it was about giving Kevin and Michelle the peaceful retreat they’d been dreaming of for years. Take a look at the before-and-after shots and see how a little creativity (and some smart design choices) can completely transform a space.
