This project took place in a gorgeous brick tudor home was built in 1925, which was unfortunately before washers, dryers, and laundry rooms were a thing! A previous owner had “converted” this bedroom to a laundry room by putting a stackable washer and dryer in the closet, but our clients were looking for fully functional laundry room with counter space, storage cabinets, and a custom dog feeding station.
We removed the original hardwood floors and installed a vintage inspired distressed gray tile floor. The beautiful blue green cabinetry with oak countertops provide plenty of room for storage and folding clothes. The cabinets on the left include both a pull out trash, as well as a laundry basket nook.
This area is where the previous owner had installed the stackable washer and dryer, inside a closet. We took advantage of the plumbing already being there and decided to make this the sink nook featuring a hammered copper apron sink, a bridge faucet, iridescent square tiles, and a plant shelf.
Custom Dog Feeding Station: We custom built this area to the right of the washer and dryer with translucent glass cabinet fronts and a dog feeding area below. To make it easy to clean, we tiled the feeder surround and had the bowls cut into a quartz shelf
The laundry basket fits perfectly under the oak countertop, making it easy to tuck out of the way. And I spy a cute puppy who is loving her new space!
