These homeowners initially called us to expand their split-level home, but after looking at their wish list and budget, we came to the conclusion that it made more sense to start over with a new build! If you want to check out the demo of the old house you can see it come down in this quick video here.
During the design process we were inspired by a gorgeous navy-blue tile for the kitchen and that became the anchor for our color palette. The navy blue paired beautifully with the reclaimed wood accents on their wish list and really helped turn this new build into a stunning home full of character and warmth. We are so honored that we were able to be a part of helping this family create their forever home!

PROJECT AT A GLANCE:
Location: Burlington, MA
Type Of Home: Colonial Built In 2019 With 2 Car Garage
Square Footage: 3,000 Square Feet
These clients had seen some of the other houses we built and were excited to do a project of their own. She really loved the reclaimed beams in the Rooster House project kitchen so incorporating them into this home was high on the priority list!
We fell in love with the navy blue subway tile and the rest of the first floor just flowed off of that. BONUS: Navy blue always looks great next reclaimed wood finishes!
We brought the Navy blue into other areas of the home as well.
Mudroom: reclaimed wood, black hardware, and that farmhouse feel.
Pantry doors and cabinets (side note- we used this door design in our Lexington Home Tour project and she HAD to have it!) :
I LOVE frosted doors! Since these are in the kitchen we also matched the door handles with the main cabinet handles:
We looked at A LOT of house plans and they kept coming back to this one because they just loved how the kitchen was open to the large family room:
We even carried the blue into the dining room! And that ceiling could be stared at all day…
The navy blue party even continued in the half bath with this beautiful pattern tile:
Two lucky girls get to share this bathroom… there were some intense negotiations that led to this tile choice:
Mom & Dad finally got their own bathroom! They wanted a clean and calming vibe in the master suite:
Here are a few more of my favorite details from this Navy Blue inspired new build:
We are so happy that we were able to help this family with their new build and make all of their wish list items reality in this dream home!
