Spaces For A Serene Paint Color

Spaces For A Serene Paint Color

I was flipping through one of my new paint decks from Sherwin Williams and fell in love with the prettiest blue paint color!  Ironically named Serenely, this calming hue is one that caught my eye from their new Emerald Designer Edition paint line.  Serenely would look amazing paired with cool rustic tones, and would brighten up any room, which makes this soothing paint color a great choice for many different spaces.

Serenely is a relaxing color that would do wonders in a bathroom. Picture yourself in a peaceful soaker tub!  This color has a blue-gray tone to it, depending on how you pair it in the space.  If you would like to see the blue side of Serenely, you could use a neutral color vanity with a pattern floor tile and possibly a white arabesque tile in the shower or tub surround for a fun but clean look.  Having a countertop with some blue-gray veining will help tie the overall color scheme together.

If you would like to bring out the gray side of Serenely, my suggestion would be to use a darker blue-gray vanity with wood tile flooring and a white tile in the shower or tub surround for some contrast.  You could use the same countertop with the blue-gray veining and add in black hardware for a modern flair!

When thinking about other spaces in a home this color could be used in I immediately think a bedroom. A bedroom is the perfect place to create the ultimate soothing atmosphere!  For a kid’s bedroom, this color looks best when paired with hardwood flooring.  A similar concept to the bathrooms would be used to create the overall color scheme of a bedroom; neutral tones create more tranquility while darker tones add contrast.

Another great space for a calming color is the laundry room!  A lot of the time these spaces don’t have natural light, so Serenely can add that brightness needed to liven up the room.  To keep the laundry room light and airy, neutral colors would be best to let the blue hue shine since it will not be fighting with any other bold colors.
