Every once in a while, a home comes along that’s full of character, potential, and charm you simply can’t replicate. Our newest project, affectionately nicknamed The Stone & Stucco House, is exactly that kind of gem.
Originally built in 1900, this unique home stands out in our area because it’s an architectural style we don’t often see in Massachusetts. Watch the video tour below!
This home first began life as a single-story stone bungalow. Then, in the 1980s, a second floor was added. Today, it sits at over 2,500 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and ceiling heights over nine feet on the first floor.
While it hasn’t been updated in quite some time, the home has incredibly strong bones and so many original details worth preserving. And that’s exactly what we plan to do!

Our plan for the exterior
We’re gearing up for a full transformation that honors the past while bringing the home into a new era of modern design.
The plan includes:
- a new two car garage with a spacious family room above
- keeping the stone, and updating the stucco
- New black frame windows
Our plan for inside
- expanded living space in the basement
- a redesigned layout that will grow the home to nearly 4,000 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths.
- add a primary bathroom
We’re also incorporating the features today’s homeowners love:
- a beautiful new mudroom
- black-framed windows
- a large kitchen with a center island
- and dedicated office space
We’ll be retaining the main original elements that give this home its soul, like the original solid wood front door, the stone and stucco exterior, gorgeous fir floors, and the deep window wells that make the main level feel so charming.
It’s a rare privilege to work on a home with this much history and personality, and we can’t wait to bring you along for the journey. Stay tuned as this transformation begins to unfold!
