Every year major paint companies announce their “Color of the Year”. Read on to see what’s trending this year from your favorite manufacturers and where you can use them!

Viva Magenta
Company & Color: “Viva Magenta” 18-1750 is Pantone’s 2023 Color of the Year.
What is it?: The company describes it as a color that “vibrates with vim and vigor,” and is a “shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength”.
Where can you use it?: You might want to use this fun bright hue wherever you want to create a bold and uplifting environment such as a powder room, little girls room, or even on a statement piece of furniture to add some personality to a room.

Redend Point
Company & Color: “Redend Point” SW 9081 is Sherwin William’s 2023 Color of the Year.
What is it?: The company describes it as “a heartening hue that invites compassion and connection into any space. This color is a natural choice for those looking for a warm and joyful neutral in both interiors and exteriors.
Where can you use it?: This saturated neutral is a beautiful soft color that can be used on an accent wall, wainscoting, or in a powder room.

Vining Ivy
Company & Color: “Vining Ivy” 1148-6 is PPG and Glidden’s 2023 Color of the Year.
What is it?: The company describes it as “a deeply saturated, jewel-toned green with cool turquoise undertones,” and it “lands between a woodsy forest green and a blue-green teal”.
Where can you use it?: I love how this color dances between blue and green and I can see it on cabinetry, in a dining room, and it would even make a great color for a kids playroom.

Raspberry Blush
Company & Color: “Raspberry Blush” 2008-30 is Benjamin Moore’s 2023 Color of the Year.
What is it?: The company describes it as “a vivacious shade of coral tinged with pink, Raspberry Blush enlivens the senses with an electric optimism,” and “has us thinking: bold, bolder, boldest”.
Where can you use it?: I imagine using this shade in a beach home, guest room, or even for a bold accent wall in a main living area.

Aged Barrel
Company & Color: “Aged Barrel” 283 is Minwax’s Color of the Year.
What is it?: The company says “Aged Barrel’s craftsman-like charm sets a truly comforting tone for any space”.
Where can you use it?: We used Aged Barrel in our Shallow House project because of it’s true wood tone and natural feel.
