Answering Your Questions from Social Media!

We get a lot of questions from you guys on social media, so we decided to answer some of the most recent and frequently asked ones! From viral moments to design tips, we’ve got it all covered.

1. What happened to Luna after she fell down the stairs?

@kadilakhomes Reposting from Instagram… she is okay! No french bulldogs were injured in the making of this video, so feel free to laugh😂 #frenchbulldoglife #clumsydog #funnydogvideos #caughtoncamera #caughtonring ♬ Funny - Gold-Tiger

One of the top questions we received was about our french bulldog, Luna, and our viral video where she fell down the stairs. A lot of you were concerned and wondered what happened afterward. Well, don’t worry—Luna was totally fine! Although the video showed her tumbling, the part where Paul went to console her was cropped out. We just want to clear it up—no abandonment here and Luna was totally fine with no injuries!

2. What caused the house fire in your "Renovation 911" project?

Before: The Primary Bathroom

This question came up a lot. Project Renovation 911 had a major house fire caused by an issue with the ceiling fan in the primary bathroom. A wiring problem led to the fan catching fire in the attic, and it quickly spread. The fire department came, and they had to douse the house with water, causing significant damage. Fortunately, no one was hurt, which was the most important thing.

Below is a photo of how the primary bathroom looked after our renovations!

3.) What size niche do you recommend for a standard 5-foot tub?

For a standard 5-foot tub, we recommend a niche that’s 18 inches high and 30 inches wide. The width is typically half the size of the tub, which works well in most cases.

4.) Does Paul Have an English Accent?

This one had us laughing! Somebody asked if Paul has an English accent. The short answer—no, he doesn’t. But if you’ve watched any of our videos, chances are he’s used one before, and probably more than once. What Paul does have is a strong Boston accent!

5.) What are the dimensions of the pantry in the "Skinny Kitchen Makeover" project?

Compact walk-in kitchen pantry with teal cabinets and brass hardware in a white kitchen, featuring custom open shelving.

At project Skinny Kitchen Makeover, we packed a lot into that small space! The pantry itself is around 5 x 5.5 feet. Not huge, but still very functional with tons of cabinet space, a built-in microwave, open shelving, counter space, and a window.

6.) What are the dimensions of the office with the built-in desks and Murphy bed?

Modern home office with built-in gray cabinetry and two workstations, featuring wood countertops and sleek chairs.

In project Coming Home to Boston, we built this gorgeous home office space with two built-in desks, a window seat, and a Murphy bed to convert into a guest room.

This room was approximately 12×12 feet. There was also a little nook inside the Murphy bed, about 18 inches deep. We maximized every inch of that room to fit it all in!

7.) What was the paint color used in the “From Starter Home to Forever Home” project?

One of the most frequently asked questions is about the paint color in our From Starter Home to Forever Home project.

The color we used was Benjamin Moore’s New Providence Navy. It’s a beautiful, rich navy blue that made the space pop!
