One of our favorite design elements that we incorporate into almost all of our renovations is pattern tile. Going to the tile store and looking at all the different shapes, colors and patterns is more excitement than one can handle! We always get questions from our followers on Instagram *shameless plug* about what pattern tiles we use in our renovations. Since we get so many amazing reactions to our tile selections, we decided it was time to make a blog about our favorite black and white pattern tiles!

This is truly one of our favorite pattern tiles and we have been using it for years! Anatolia Tile sells this gorgeous black and white marble-looking pattern tile with all the squares lining up *as shown above*, and we really love how it looks on its side! Flipping the tile creates a diamond shape pattern, which feels more modern while still having the classic marble look.

Anatolia tile created this beautiful 8×8 charcoal, light gray, and white simple tile design that is great for anyone who doesn’t like a busy pattern tile. What’s great about this tile is that you can really emphasis or tone down the tile design with the color of the grout. For this tile design, we wanted to incorporate more of the dark charcoal color from the pattern tile with the grout to really make the four petal flower design pop!

A tried and true geometric black and white pattern tile that we really loved using this past year. This 8×8 Medina Black tile design is so easy to use in a renovation because it looks amazing everywhere! We used it as a feature wall, paired with gray-green subway tile and black hexagon tiles *as shown above*, and we also used it as flooring in a simple main bathroom and laundry room design. The possibilities are endless!

The Pearl Street Project is one of our followers favorite black and white bathroom remodel that we have featured on our Instagram! This pattern design by Valmori Ceramica Design is definitely a bold statement tile that has a ton of personality. The best way to use a big pattern tile design like this would be as an accent wall. Make sure it is balanced by using contrasting neutral colors and other simple tiles around it to create a timeless accent wall that you will never get sick of!

Another style that we are loving is this classic black and white pattern tile design that can go in any renovation! The 8×8 Flora Black White Porcelain Tile is a pattern you have most definitely seen on Pinterest before, but it is truly a timeless floral-like pattern. Even though it makes a larger pattern when four of the tiles are put together, this is a great tile design for someone to try in a half bathroom, mudroom or laundry room. Trying a pattern in a smaller room of the house is an amazing way to see if you like pattern tiles without the huge commitment. If you hate it down the line, tile is replaceable!

This past year for us should have been named “The Year of The Hexagon Tile”.😂 We used all different sizes and colors of hexagon tile designs in the majority of our renovations. Some of the most common places we use small hexagon tiles are on shower floors, and we love using all different sizes of black and white hexagon tile as flooring! This 7×8 matte Anatolia Tile has the added design element of the white frame which really makes the shape stand out.

The Tile Shop carries a Laura Ashley Tile line, and it is stunning! I fell in love with this black and white wicker tile design a few years ago and I had the bright idea to use it in our own half bathroom during our home renovation! The tile design is so simple, but still has a timeless look to it, which looks great with a bright pop of color!
