In January we attended the 2023 Builder & Designer’s Show in Vegas and while we were there we had the opportunity to visit the 2023 New American Home in Henderson, NV. The goal of the project is to be on the “cutting-edge of innovation and energy efficiency”. In addition to a gorgeous modern upscale design, this home is also a model of energy efficiency. According to the website, the home was “designed and built to achieve National Green Building Standard “Emerald” certification, ENERGY STAR Certification, Indoor airPLUS Certification, DOE’s Zero Energy Ready Home Program Certification and net-zero status.”

Hanging in the backyard, overlooking the lights of Sin City. It was cold there in January!
One of the most swoon-worthy spaces was the primary suite. It was more like a private apartment! Complete with a full sitting room, wet bar with a built-in coffee maker, and a balcony overlooking the expansive view, it was like a dream.
Paul is a huge accent lighting fan, so he was thrilled to see the level of detail and thought that was put into the main stairway of the home with custom accent lighting going all the way up.
The sleek, modern upscale design continues even in the laundry room! With double sinks, lots of storage, and more accent lighting; you can see just how carefully every detail of this home was thought out.
This was the first time we ever visited a home like this and it was so interesting to see how various vendors joined forces to put this model home together. Seeing different designs and styles of homes across the county also gives me a little bit of inspo to bring back to our traditional New England homes.
