Vibrant blue mermaid tile, kids coastal bathroom

S1 Episode 9: The Shallow House Part 2

Shallow House Wish List Mood Board

Let’s check out all the details in the rest of the house!  Including some must haves:  a primary suite with dedicated bathroom, a mudroom, and a bathroom for the girls to share!

Before the renovation the home was lacking a laundry room and in the entry there was only a tiny closet.  In reworking the floor plan we stole enough space by the front door for a combo mudroom/ laundry room.  Paint details at the end of the blog.

Another pain point for the growing family was the fact that the house only had one bathroom so we found some space to add one more off the primary bedroom.  The shades of vibrant blue in the main living area made their way into the other spaces as well!

Primary Suite Escape: Bedroom & Bathroom Renovation Reveal

Kevin and Michelle came to us with a vision of transforming their primary suite to feel like a luxurious escape, but the existing layout was anything but relaxing. A cramped closet, single-sink vanity, and a shower that felt more like a phone booth left little room for comfort.

In this project, we reimagined the entire space, knocking down walls and reworking the footprint to create the ultimate suite experience. By shifting the closet into the bedroom and expanding the bathroom, we opened up new possibilities. The result? A double vanity with custom cabinetry, a spacious walk-in shower with bold green accent tiles, and a closet that no longer feels like a tight squeeze.

This was more than just a renovation – it was about giving Kevin and Michelle the peaceful retreat they’d been dreaming of for years. Take a look at the before-and-after shots and see how a little creativity (and some smart design choices) can completely transform a space.
